City of Manila, Philippines – TERPCAP recently participated in the Global IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities (GITC) held at The Manila Hotel last November 4-6, 2024. The event aimed to empower young individuals with disabilities through information and communication technology (ICT) and raise awareness about digital accessibility.
As part of their commitment to inclusivity, TERPCAP provided crucial deaf relay services for international deaf delegates attending the GITC. By utilizing sign language, the TERPCAP team facilitated seamless communication and ensured that all participants, regardless of hearing ability, could fully engage in the event.
The GITC 2024 focused on building a more sustainable competition by enhancing its international recognition and empowering participating countries to independently organize their own events.
TERPCAP’s involvement in the GITC underscores the organization’s dedication to empowering the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. By providing essential language services, TERPCAP contributes to creating a more inclusive and accessible world for all.
